How To Apply For an Equivalency Certificate

For students planning to pursue high school, university, undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral studies in Turkey, obtaining an "equivalency certificate" is mandatory for their diplomas obtained in their home countries.

The equivalency certificate is an official document verifying that the education completed abroad complies with the standards of the Turkish education system. This document confirms that diplomas received from higher education institutions are recognized by the Turkish education system.

Without an equivalency certificate, university enrollment in Turkey cannot be completed, and the registration may be canceled. To apply for the equivalency certificate, students should approach the Educational Counselorship at the Turkish Consulate in their respective countries. If application from the home country is not possible, a residence permit is required for application in Turkey.
